Paralympic medallist Ian Marsden visits old school to inspire pupils - WATCH
A Paralympian who won a medal at Rio went back to the classroom at his old school to speak to pupils.
Ian Marsden, who won bronze in the final of the KL1 canoe sprint, visited Weston Road Academy, in Stafford.
The 44-year-old spoke to year seven students at the school and posed for photos before they put him to the test with some challenging questions.
He was close to taking gold after being involved in a three-way photo-finish in a thrilling race at Rio's Lagoa Stadium course.
After returning home Mr Marsden said: "I think after watching the race its the hardest medal I've probably ever got.
"It didn't feel like that in the race as you're in the moment then and you don't know how close you are to getting one of the medals.
"I thought I'd missed out on a medal at first but being on the podium was all that mattered."
Mr Marsden, who now lives in Stoke, only took up para-canoeing four years ago after trying shooting and para-cycling.
