Stephanie Grainger, aged 48, from Cheslyn Hay, and her partner were struck down when a car mounted the pavement and hit a road sign before hitting them.
It happened at around 10.30pm on Beacon Street, Lichfield, on August 12.

Another tribute stated: "Rest in peace to the poor lady who lost her life in a tragic accident on August 12. Our thoughts are with the family."
While another read: "Rest in Peace. Our thoughts are with the loved ones you left behind."
A Vauxhall Astra was being driven around the city centre when the driver suddenly lost control at the Morrisons island, Beacon Street. The pair were out walking following an evening out in the city centre.
The couple were both hit in the collision, but the man suffered only minor injuries, whilst Miss Grainger was more seriously hurt.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics who later took her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Police confirmed that she was in a critical but stable condition in hospital shortly after the accident but she later died on August 13.
Ms Grainger was the manager of Springfield House care home, based in Oaken Drive, Codsall.
A statement released by the care home reads: "Colleagues at Springfield House and throughout the company Brighter Kind, which ran the home, are shocked and very sad about Steph's untimely and tragic death, as a result of injuries that she sustained in an accident.
"Steph, who was home manager at Springfield, was a bubbly and charismatic person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
"Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Steph's family and to her fiance who was injured in the same accident."
Staffordshire Police confirmed that a 20-year-old male from Lichfield and a 19-year-old male from Walsall, who were detained in connection with the incident, have been bailed until October 10.
