Long diversions will be in place off the town's ring road as part of a resurfacing scheme on the busy A491 High Street, Amblecote.

It will mean from July 25, traffic will only be able to travel south on High Street towards Stourbridge town centre from its junction with Collis Street.

Drivers wanting to head north out of Stourbridge towards Kingswinford will have to take a diversion along Enville Street and through Wollaston.

The restrictions will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm until August 3. They will also be in operation on consecutive Sundays on August 7 and August 14.

Council bosses said the one-way traffic order was essential for the resurfacing scheme.

Dudley Council's environment boss Hillary Bills said motorists were likely to face delays during the period.

She also urged drivers to be patient during the roadworks which it was necessary to do.
