JAILED: Walsall drugs gang pair locked up for eight years
Two men from Walsall who were members of drugs gang have been jailed for more than eight years after West Midlands Police foiled their dealer operation.
Aqib Hussain, from Walsall, and Mohammed Miah, from Caldmore, were locked up alongside Izrar Hussain and Omar Faroq after a police investigation linked them to a Class A empire.
Cocaine and heroin worth £300,000 was recovered by officers from properties in Walsall as part of the investigation.
The gang denied any involvement initially but admitted conspiracy to supply drugs in the face of overwhelming evidence built up by West Midlands Police detectives.
Aqib Hussain and Miah were arrested leaving an address in Ampleforth Drive, Willenhall, on October 22, where police found £1,400 worth of heroin in cling film wraps on Hussain.
Drugs worth more than £30,000, along with £5,000 cash, were also recovered from the property.
An investigation showed Hussain and Miah were making daily visits to their storage 'safehouse' to load up on drugs to deal.
Enquiries showed Faroq had taken out the lease for the flat in his name and another address located along Fellows Park Garden, in Pleck.
Officers had previously recovered cocaine and heroin worth £62,000, along with £12,000 in cash, from the Pleck property in January 2014.
A search of Faroq's home in Foster Street saw more than £200,000 of heroin found in the rear garage.
Izrar Hussain was arrested after his finger prints inside the Pleck property linking him to the drugs found in 2014.
An analysis of phones from all four members proved their association.
They pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs ? and today, on June 24, they were put behind bars for more than 20 years.
Aqib Hussain, aged 23, of Southbourne Avenue in Walsall, was jailed for three years and seven months.
Miah, aged 25, of Wednesbury Road in Caldmore, handed a five year and two months sentence.
Izrar Hussain, 32, of West Avenue in Handsworth, was jailed for two years and Faroq, 28, was imprisoned up for nine-and- a-half years.
In total they were jailed for more than 20 years.
Detective Constable Tom Frenchum, from the Force Priorities Team, said: "Drugs cause untold misery and wreck lives… diligent work by Walsall Police's neighbourhood and offender management teams, together with Force CID, enabled us to rumble this operation.
"There is no place for cocaine and heroin on their streets and these sentences should act as a stern warning; if you deal in drugs you will be caught and face time behind
