Rejected housing plan for Stafford village goes to appeal

Controversial plans to build dozens of homes in a Stafford village have resurfaced despite development chiefs rejecting the proposal.

The borough council's planning committee refused the application for up to 65 properties at Main Road in Little Haywood last year.

But now applicants the Moore Family Trust have officially appealed meaning the scheme, earmarked for green belt land, will be determined by a planning inspectorate from the Department for Communities and Local Government.

The move has been confirmed on council papers set to go before the planning committee next Wednesday.
