Boy, 12, hit by car on way to school in Hednesford in 'stable' condition

A 12-year-old boy who was hit by a car on his way to school has been described as in a 'stable' condition.

The youngster, a pupil at Kingsmead School in Hednesford, was struck by a Ford Fiesta on the junction of Hemlock Way and Sidon Hill Way at around 8am on Monday. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said he had suffered 'serious injuries' and he was flown by Midlands Air Ambulance to hospital.

The boy suffered a broken jaw and a punctured lung. Staffordshire Police spokesperson Hazel Dockery said: "His condition is described as 'stable'."
