His Renault Megane hit a parked vehicle and flipped over, coming to rest on the pavement in Lime Road in the early hours of Saturday morning. He suffered arm and shoulder injuries. Fire Crews from Bilston and Dudley attended the scene.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokeswoman said: "We attended an incident in Lime Road, Sedgley in which a car had collided with a parked vehicle. The occupier managed to self-extricate himself. He was out of the car before we arrived.

"The police requested that the car was left in situ. It happened in the early hours of the morning."

Brigg Ford of West Midlands Police said: "We were called by ambulance crews to an incident where a car had rolled over at about 4.20am.

The vehicle was on its roof. The driver suffered a nasty gash to his arm, but it wasn't a life-threatening or life-changing injury. He was taken to hospital."

Meanwhile a young driver was lucky to escape with minor injuries after flipping his car on a winding road in Stourbridge on Friday night.

The 20-year-old hurt his shoulder in the incident, which happened at Bagley Road just after 9pm. No other vehicles were involved.

Brigg Ford of West Midlands Police said: "One car was overturned. Nobody was trapped. We got the call at around 9.15pm. The car was blocking the road, and there was concern because it is a steep winding road that other cars could come round the corner and not see it. But the road was quickly coned off. The road was closed but reopened after a short time. The 20-year-old male driver suffered an injured shoulder. No other vehicles were involved."

A West Midlands Fire Service spokeswoman added: "We attended an incident in Bagley Street where a motor vehicle had overturned.

"The driver had self-extricated when we arrived. We we called to the incident at 9.15pm."
