The chase, which started in the Penn Fields area of the city, started at 1am and finished in Tettenhall, just off Danescourt Road.

Traffic officers and other officers from A unit WV response managed to conclude the incident without anyone being hurt and recovered the drugs from the road.

The drugs are believed to have been either heroin, cocaine, methadone, ecstasy or LSD.

Three individuals were arrested following the chase.

Tweeting after the incident, WolvesResponse said: "X3 in custody following a pursuit with @Trafficwmp. Items recovered after being thrown from window of vehicle."

The news comes as seven suspected drug dealers were arrested in Stafford last week after police officers smelt cannabis during routine patrols.

Heroin, cocaine, cannabis and cash were all seized when the seven suspects were detained in two separate and unplanned waves of arrests.
