Woden Road East will be closed to traffic heading towards Wood Green Road, from its junction with Park Hill.
Resurfacing work will be taking place on one side of the road until the end of the week.
Highways bosses said the closure would only be in force during off-peak times.
Traffic will still be able to travel in the opposite direction.
It is the latest set of roadworks this month with works also affecting traffic through Tipton and Great Bridge.
