Paul Hewitt took revenge after discovering she had made porn films and wanted to appear in more.

The furious 45-year-old was further enraged by the fact his daughter from an earlier relationship had watched some of the videos, a judge heard.

He locked the woman out of the Walsall address they had shared during the two-year affair, hurled her belongings into the street and spat at her when she returned from work on October 18, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.

The next day he went on a wrecking spree at her home, ripping up pictures of the pair together and then littering the floor with the torn up photographs, said Mr John Brotherton, prosecuting.

The defendant scrawled her Twitter address on the wall and cut the landline phone to the property while also bombarding the woman – who cannot be named for legal reasons – with threatening text messages for three days, the court heard.

One of the text messages warned: "Just watch what I will do. Even if I have to spend five years in jail – just watch."

Hewitt also warned that he would show the video that had been seen by his daughter to the girl his partner had from another relationship.

He made it clear that he was ending their romance because of her wish to work in the 'adult film industry,' the court was told.

He was arrested on October 26 and Mr Brotherton concluded: "He had become angry because the victim was doing work in the sex industry."

Mr Oliver Woolhouse, defending, said: "The imagery really upset him but his subsequent behaviour was unpleasant and inexcusable.

"This was set against a backdrop of the difficult circumstances of the relationship but he accepts that it is over.

"He has made no attempt to contact her since this happened and there will not be any attempt in future."

Hewitt, from Sister Dora Gardens, in Wednesbury Road, Caldmore, Walsall, admitted putting a person in fear of violence through harassment and two cases of criminal damage.

He was jailed by Judge Nicholas Webb, who told him: "You and your former partner had been in a relationship for two years when you discovered she had been working as a sex worker and your daughter had seen videos of her in action.

"You then behaved in a threatening manner and spat at her. Cutting the phone line to her home was a menacing thing to do.

"You also have numerous previous convictions, one of which was for domestic violence," he added.
