Jackie Abbott was killed by her husband Paul at their home in Netherton last year, with Mr Abbott later admitting the charge at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Sons Martyn, 26, and Ryan, 22, have spent their time setting up JMR Tackle to show their love for their mother – who also owned a fishing tackle shop.

The shop in Brierley Hill will officially be opened on Saturday, which would have been Mrs Abbott's 55th birthday.

A statement from the boys says: "Mum was such a happy fun loving person we want to pay tribute to her in a positive way."

The shop on the Enterprise Trading Estate in Pedmore Road will be officially opened on Saturday – the day when they should have been celebrating Mrs Abbott's 55th.

Mr and Mrs Abbott ran a fishing tackle shop together called J & P Fishing Snooker Darts on the same Brierley Hill trading estate, with Mrs Abbott listed as company secretary, and Mr Abbott director.

Mr Abbott last month has admitted murdering his wife. He smashed her over the head with a hammer at the couple's family home in Lodge Crescent, Netherton on December 11.

Judge John Wait warned Abbott, aged 57, only one sentence could be handed down – life in prison. He is set to appear in court on Friday to determine the basis of plea.
