Fan Mark Evans has set up a petition calling for a banner, which was erected in tribute to Sir Jack, to be returned to the ground.

The banner was installed temporarily over a screen in the ground and was first seen for the home game against Blackpool last January, on the day that Wolves fans paid tribute to Sir Jack four days after his death.

Mark is now calling on the club to make it a permanent fixture.

The petition, at thepetitionsite.com, has already received 372 supporters online and Mark, a 39-year-old self-employed HGV driver, says he has collected more than 200 more on paper.

The petition site states: "I think we can all agree that Sir Jack's banner looks fantastic in this picture. And I'm sure that JJX Logistics will have no problem in giving the space up for Sir Jack to take his place next to his stand (Southbank) on a permanent fixture, or at least until the big screens are repaired/updated.

"I've set this event page up to run until the final match of this season. It would be nice to see his banner up, on the last day and ready for the start of 2016/17 season.

"Let's get Jack back where he belongs, let's get the attention of the Official Wolves FC and hope that we, the fans get what we want for all that we have given the club over the years."

The father-of-one, from West Street, Bloxwich said he thought the return of the banner would be 'nice for the fans'.

"They have got the statue and re-named the stadium stand, but I think that banner next to the stand would be nice for the fans.

"I thought I would do something about it and started a petition.

He added: "I've messaged JJX Logistics so I'm hoping to have a word with them and see if they will give up the space."

Mark added that he intends to present to the petition to the club at a future date.

"The fans I've spoken to are up for it and it's just trying to get the word out there."

He added: "There's enough advertising around the stadium, give that space to something that means something to the fans. There's a lot of people on board and I think it is a good idea."

Club spokesman Matt Grayson said: "We have got the re-naming of the stand and the statue underway.

"We feel those are really lasting tributes and at this stage we haven't got any plans for any other tributes.

"We feel like there are plenty of opportunities for fans to pay their respects to Sir Jack."

A representative for JJX Logistics refused to comment.
