Caravans have moved on to the site on Planetary Road, Wednesfield, near the Bentley Bridge retail park.

They have pitched up in an overspill car park at the swimming and fitness centre.

Now Wolverhampton council will be in court tomorrow to seek an order to move them from the site.

Councillor Steve Evans, the city's cabinet member for city environment said the group had already been moved on by the council from Bearing Drive in Bilston.

He said: "We had already served notice on them and they moved to Planetary Road into the overspill car park at the swimming and fitness centre in Bentley Bridge.

"We served notice on them again to get off the site.

"We have applied for a court order and the earliest we can get them off will be on Thursday."

It is the latest occasion when travellers have moved on to land in the city.

Earlier this month five caravans were spotted on on Faulkland Street Car Park, which is behind Kwik Fit on Stafford Street and just off the A4150 ring road, which is owned by Wolves.
