Police in Wolverhampton launched the crackdown last month to catch out people flouting the law.

In the latest action, Wolverhampton Community Action and Priority Team tweeted a picture of a black car on the back of a trailer, which was seized in the Pennfields area.

They wrote on Monday: "On patrol Penfields area. No tax, no insurance, no MOT =no car."

A picture of a white car was also uploaded to social media with the caption: "On earlies out and about in the Blakenhall area. Yet another car seized for no road tax.".

Meanwhile, colleagues in Bushbury and Oxley were also out in force. The neighbourhood team also tweeted pictures of cars removed for having no tax, while one which was declared as SORN but still parked on the road was also seized.

Last month, 10 cars parked on the road without having the necessary tax were seized.

Two cars parked on Bolton Road, close to Wednesfield Police Station, were seized by police for not being correctly taxed, meaning they cannot be on the road, even if they are parked.

It is believed that the operation is part of a wider crackdown on tax avoiders across the region.
