Student flats lined up for old Wolverhampton offices
A derelict former office block is set to be transformed into student accommodation under new plans.
Developers want to turn Phoenix House in Wolverhampton into 26 units for 44 students, made up of flats and studios.
The building, in Red Lion Street, has been empty for eight years.
Documents submitted with the plans state: "The proposal finds a new use for an attractive historic building of substantial scale.
"Phoenix House is identified in the Wolverhampton city centre conservation area appraisal as a building of townscape importance.
"The conversion will have only a positive impact upon the appearance and character of the building by ensuring it is fully renovated."
Planners at Wolverhampton council will make a decision on the proposals at a later date.
