Tackeroo to be demolished to make way for housing
Hednesford's former Tackeroo music club, which hosted the likes of pop star Alvin Stardust, will be knocked down and replaced with apartments.
Cheslyn Hay based Alps Developments confirmed it had purchased the venue for an undisclosed sum.
It has already gained permission in principle from Cannock Chase Council to develop apartments at the street-corner site.

The company is now awaiting consent for its more detailed scheme for 13 two-bedroom properties.
Shawn Thacker, from Alps Developments, said: "We purchased it three weeks ago and have been granted outline planning consent.
"We will build nice apartments there overlooking Cannock Chase for people to enjoy and live there.
"They will all be private flats. The site has no requirement for social housing on there."
The club was established in 1950 but its future was cast into doubt when former owner Geoff Summerfield, who took it on in 1997, announced in 2014 that he wanted to retire.
The venue opened on Fridays and Saturdays providing a stage for a host of tribute bands and a space to host many charity nights.
My Coo-Ca-Choo singer Alvin Stardust graced the stage of the Tackeroo in 2012.
Upon confirming his retirement, Mr Summerfield told the Express & Star: "It'll be a shame to see it go.
"Places are closing down left, right and centre.
"There aren't many music venues around anymore. I know people will be sad to see us go."
The Tackeroo was put on the market for £290,000 although the property website Rightmove last had it listed for £115,000.
Mr Thacker would not disclose the sum paid by Alps Developments although declared the latter figure was way off.
He added: "It would have needed a lot of money spending on it to be honest if it was to remain a club.
"It did need a lot of repairs I think.
"But I think the residents in the area are happy for it to become residential now as opposed to a pub sort of venue anymore because the noise coming from there at the time and the issues around car parking," he added.
The latest plans reveal the apartment building will be two storey along Brindley Heath Road, in keeping with other homes there, while it will become three storey on the Bracken Close side matching the height of the next-door property.
