WATCH: Family's flood appeal donations fill up home
Most families' living rooms are piled high with toys they have received over Christmas.
Jenny Anderson's is no different – but for a different reason, as she has launched an appeal to help people hit by the devastating floods.
Jenny, of Penn, was watching the news as the devastation of the floods in the north of England became clear.
After becoming concerned that not enough was being done for the children and their families, she decided to set up an appeal despite having no links to that part of the country.
Now she has a living room full of clothes, toiletries and children's toys, among others.
She said: "I was watching the floods on TV and I didn't see anything for the flood victims so I thought it would a good idea to get something together to help them.
"I thought Facebook would be the best way to go about it so I started an appeal and I've had a great response, lots of people from all over the West Midlands have donated.
"I have got adults clothes, children's clothes, food, children's toys and some have even donated brand new Christmas presents. The living room is getting fuller and fuller." Jenny has been aided along the way by her two little helpers, five-year-old Grace and three-year-old Faith.
She is heading up to Cumbria with Grace and Faith on Sunday to deliver the donations at various drop off points including Whalley, Lancashire. They put a post on a Facebook paqe dedicated to helping flood victims stating their intentions and up to 200 people have offered their thanks to the family.
She said: "I have no affiliation to the North at all, I just saw it on TV and said to my two girls shall we do something? They have been a great help getting everything together and folding the clothes for me as well. "My youngest is always on the toy phone to herself talking about what we've got in the house and why we're doing it.
"I've probably got at least 50 black bags of clothes and half a dining room full of toys for babies up to teenagers."
