Helped by a team of festive fundraisers, Father Christmas himself has spent much of the last two weeks riding around Penkridge and surrounding areas as part of the local round table's annual sleigh tour.

And thanks to the generosity of those who met the white-bearded wonder, Penkridge Round Table raised a total of £4,107.37 from its 2015 event.

Tim Rowlands, vice chairman of Penkridge Round Table, said the group was delighted at the success of the collection and the "magical feeling" Santa had brought to the area.

He said: "As you can imagine were very chuffed at the grand total of £4,107.37 that we collected from our sleigh tour this year, and we would like to thank all that came out to see us over the last two weeks."

"It isn't about the money its about bringing the communities together and seeing all the smiles from kids to the adults.

"We want to thank everyone and wish everyone a merry Christmas."

Money raised from the sleigh tour will be put towards helping local good causes, charities and groups.
