'One awesome angel': Family pay tribute to teenager killed after Bewdley collision

The family of a 16-year-old boy who died after a being hit by a car outside West Midland Safari Park have today paid tribute to their "beautiful son".

Lewis Chambers was pronounced dead in the early hours of Monday morning after being hit by a car near to West Midland Safari Park on Sunday evening.

And his family have today paid tribute to their "beautiful son".

The family said: "Our beautiful son Lewis has been taken too soon to an absolutely awful tragic incident.

"Heaven has gained one awesome angel who, I hope and pray, will look over his family, especially his little brother Ben, step-sister Amy and best friend Josh.

"We will miss him so very much and always will."

Officers were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a blue Citroen Xsara on Spring Grove in Bewdley shortly before 6pm on Sunday evening.

The vehicle was travelling towards Kidderminster on the A456 when the accident took place.

Police Sergeant Steve Hastie said: "Our thoughts go out to the family at this time and a full investigation will be undertaken to establish the full facts leading to this collision."
