£15k donated to fire-hit youth base in less than a week
More than £15,000 has been donated to a youth group in the six days since its base was torched by arsonists.
Leaders of High Acres Woodcraft Folk, which is based near Kinver, said they have been taken aback by the generosity of the local community.
The organisation, used by youngsters from Kingswinford, Stourbridge and beyond, had its hut razed to the ground in a deliberate fire on Tuesday.
Since then the donations have come flooding in to help the group get back on its feet.
Volunteer leader Robert Sandall - whose dad Bob set up the group 47 years ago - said: "It's been a pretty amazing response
"It makes you realise there are good people out there, but it's still such a shame we've had to do this."
It is estimated it will take around to £10,000 to replace the hut - but thousands more to replace all the equipment that was also destroyed in the blaze.
