14-ton digger driver suspected of using phone at controls

A digger driver was pulled over in Bloxwich for being caught on his mobile phone.

Officers from Walsall policing team picked up the motorist yesterday afternoon.

The man was driving a bright orange 14-ton Boosan DX140W vehicle at the time.

CMPG Roads Policing tweeted a picture of the vehicle after the incident.

The team said: "Stopped in Bloxwich on @Walsallpolice.

"Driver was happily driving this while on his phone... until we stopped him!"

The digger was pulled over in Bloxwich Lane in Reedswood.

The man was not arrested.

But police are to send a report to the Crown prosecution Service for a decision on the case.
