VIDEO: Wolves stars bring Christmas cheer to New Cross Hospital
Patients were treated to a delightful surprise after Wolves stars visited New Cross Hospital.
Members from the first team and the under 21 side visited patients in different wards and handed out gifts.
The visit is carried out by Wolves each year to give patients who are going through a difficult time a chance to meet the players and to brighten up their day.
The players visited different areas of the hospital, which included the Children's Ward, Deanesly Ward and the Maternity Ward.
Speaking on the visit, defender Matt Doherty lauded the heroics of the staff at the hospital.
He said: "I have got so much respect for the staff with all the things that they do, they are heroes really to these patients.
"The things they do though we take for granted almost."
Striker Benik Afobe said: "It is nice to come and see people in the hospital here and hopefully they can all get better. It is sad to see.
"We don't know a lot that goes on because all we do is train and work hard, and go home and see our friends and family.
"But there is just so much going on in the world and it makes you humble to see and the looks on their faces when they see us you know.
"Some people are talking about the game on Saturday and it just shows how much people watch and hear about us and we don't know much about them.
"The work that the staff do sometimes goes unnoticed, with all the hours they put in and the late shifts."
The players that visited New Cross Hospital were Benik Afobe, Matt Doherty, Sheyi Ojo, Jordan Graham, Nathan Byrne, Bjorn Sigurdarson, Bright Enobakhare, Declan Weeks, Callum Harris, Jonathan Flatt and Sylvain Deslandes.
