Thousands of people braved the wet weather to see communities light up for Christmas.
Events took place at Bantock Park, Tettenhall and Shifnal.
At Bantock, Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Ian Brookfield, joined Signal 107 breakfast show host, Dicky Dodd, and Father Christmas for the festive fun.
It was the first year there has been an official lights switch-on at the venue. More than 1,000 people attended Sunday's event.
Councillor Brookfield said: "I think we're all pleased, there was such a large crowd, it's only good for future events like this in the park.
"It's a beautiful venue and a beautiful part of the city, the historic house and the park was a great place to have the event.
"I should imagine the next mayor, whoever it will be then, would be invited to turn them on again next year; it's the jewel in the crown of the city."
As well as a visit to Santa, visitors also enjoyed music and competitions and there was a range of fairground rides for all ages.
The house was open for guests to explore, there was a working steam engine to discover and the night included a craft fair where local people and businesses were able to showcase their mostly festive inspired products.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, scores of people took to the streets of Tettenhall to see the village's Christmas lights turned on.
Cheers went up from the large crowd when thousands of tiny white lights lit up the trees on Upper Green. Shops and businesses around the village threw open their doors for the night, with mulled wine and mince pies on offer for those looking for respite from the wet and blustery conditions.
In Shifnal, Caroline Killen, chairman of the Christmas lights working group, said: "The results are outstanding. The Shifnal Christmas Lights Switch On is an integral part of the calendar for Shifnal residents.
"We have always been so proud of the decorations and have been able to utilise some of the older designs now that they have been tested accordingly. Christmas is for the young – and young at heart – and we hope everyone will be as pleased as we are with this year's display".
