But the future of the football at the Goals Soccer Centre in Rowley Regis has been assured despite the potential change in ownership of the venue.

Goals has a 55-year lease to operate host football at the centre in Cakemore Road, which is a favourite with five-a-side teams in the area.

The centre is due to be put up for auction on December 8 and carries a guide price of £1 million. Goals currently pays nearly £52,000 a year in rent.

Inside the centre

The site covers 4.3 acres and features 12 football pitches as well as a sports pavilion and large car park.

There is also a bar and spacious seating area near the entrance to the building, while a function suite and children's party room can also be hired for special occasions.

Goals Soccer Centre has an established reputation among amateur football players in the Black Country for its floodlit all-weather outdoor pitches which are accredited by the Football Association.

Earlier this month, Goals Soccer Centre issued its second profits warning in matter of weeks as its autumn growth targets fell short of expectations.

The company, which has another site in Willenhall, warned over profits in September after a washout summer. That announcement led to the company losing one fifth of its stock market value.
