Jailed: 'Obsessive' ex who waged campaign of abuse
An 'obsessive' 21-year-old who waged relentless campaigns of harassment against two former girlfriends has been jailed for 21 months.
Brad Cox repeatedly ignored restraining orders banning him from having any contact with either woman, both of whom had a child by him, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.
He even recruited a 'mob' armed with a baseball bat to intimidate one of the victims on April 19, said Mr Peter Cooke, prosecuting.
The group - led by Cox - arrived at her home while she was out with her family and hurled a brick through his three-month-old baby's bedroom window before fleeing after being spotted by a neighbour.
The woman then received six phone calls in quick succession after the terrifying incident but only answered one. It was from Cox who warned: "This is just the start. I ain't finished yet."
She had changed her status on Facebook to say she was in a relationship at 11.46 on April 14. Twenty two minutes later, she had an abusive phone call from Cox who declared that she would regret her new relationship. He then bombarded her with 80 further calls in 24 hours, revealed Mr Cooke.
The previous month, he had contacted the other woman who had an 18-month-old child by him after she blocked him from her Facebook account leaving her fearful to leave home with the child. He then started to write to her and continued to do so until four days before he was due in court to face charges of breaking the court order which banned him from contacting her.
Mr Cooke said: "The content was obsessive and unrelenting. He was unwilling or unable to accept the ending of their relationship."
Mr Simon Hamblett, defending, told the court: "He has been held in custody since his arrest on April 19.
"He has learned his lesson and knows the more he interferes in the lives of these two women, the longer he will spend in prison."
Cox from Chapel House Lane, Colley Gate, Cradley, admitted repeatedly breaking the terms of the restraining orders.
He was jailed by Recorder Sandra Bristoll, who told him: "You have managed to pester and harass these women in breach of court orders for a lengthy period."
