'He brought joy to all': Biker killed in Burntwood crash named as Daniel Manning
A motorcyclist who died after his bike smashed into a lamp post in Burntwood has been named as Daniel Manning.
His family today paid tribute to the 25-year-old who was riding an off-road motorbike along Springhill Road on the morning of Sunday November 8 when he veered off the carriageway and crashed.
In a statement today the family said: "Danny will be truly missed and we treasure all the memories we have.
"He brought joy to all and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He is sorely missed."
The collision, at 8.45am, took place not far from Mr Manning's home in Redwood Drive.
It closed Springhill Road for more than two hours while emergency services worked at the scene. Paramedics were at the spot within minutes but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic officers carried out a detailed examination at the accident spot.
Sgt Ian Tanner said: "Our investigation into this collision is ongoing but we do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
"The road remained closed until around 11.15am while specially trained officers carried out a detailed investigation at the scene and we'd like to thank motorists for their patience."
He appealed to anyone who saw the accident or spotted the bike, a black Shineray, beforehand to contact Staffordshire Police on 101.
