Netherton victim of suspected hit-and-run named

A man who died in a suspected hit-and-run in Netherton has been named as Gary Wroblewski.

Floral tributes have been placed at the scene where Mr Wroblewski, aged 53, was knocked down.

He was found by paramedics lying in the road in a critical condition near an abandoned car which had crashed into a billboard at the junction of Cradley Road and Marriott Road on Friday night.

Despite efforts to save him he died at the scene.

A 19-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
