Woman taken to hospital after Walsall smash

A woman was taken to hospital following a two car smash in Walsall.

Emergency services was called to the incident at the junction of Stafford Road and Turnberry Road, in Bloxwich.

This was the scene following the crash, which happened at about 5.45pm on Monday.

West Midlands Fire Service said three adults and two children managed to get out of the vehicles by the time crews from Bloxwich and Walsall arrived.

Two ambulances were also called to the scene and a 25-year-old woman was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital.

Nobody was thought to have been seriously injured.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Two cars were in collision at the junction of Stafford Road and Turnberry Road. We were called at about 5.40pm.

"Nobody was trapped. Three adults and two children had exited the vehicles by the time firefighters had arrived.

"The crews from Bloxwich and Walsall made the scene safe.

"The recovery of the vehicles was arranged by the owners.

"A 25-year-old was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital."

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Claire Brown added: "We were called at about 5.45pm to the junction of Stafford Road and Turnberry Road.

"We had two ambulances at the scene.

"One woman was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital. Her injuries were not thought to be serious."
