Skull mask gang in Halloween home raids

A man wearing a skull mask was part of a gang of men who targeted two homes in a Halloween raid in Birmingham.

The men barged into the home of a young mother in Monmouth Road, Bartley Green, close to the Halesowen border, at around 9pm on Saturday night before searching rooms and cupboards.

They fled empty handed after the 21-year-old pleaded with the men not to disturb her young daughter who was sleeping in a bedroom.

However, just minutes later the group, all believed to be black males, did the same at a neighbouring property where they surged past a man before carrying out a fruitless search and leaving with a mobile phone taken from the victim.

Det Con Stuart Parker from Birmingham South Police's Investigation Team, said: "No-one was hurt but clearly these were shocking ordeals for the residents…at one address they stormed into the house with a knife while a two-year-old child slept just feet away.

"We're trying to understand the motive for the attacks as no-one was injured and, apart from a mobile phone, nothing was taken."

Anyone with information should call Dc Parker on 101.
