Man charged with assaulting police officer during pub violence
A man will appear at court charged with assaulting a police officer after violence flared at a Walsall pub.
Police were called to the Beacon Way pub in Stoney Lane, Bloxwich, shortly after 11pm on Friday following reports of a mass brawl.
Adam Betteley, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene and charged with assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty and using threatening words or behaviour with intent to provoke unlawful violence.
The 20-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Walsall and Aldridge Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
Two police officers suffered minor injuries during the alleged disorder.
