WATCH: New CCTV of car involved in fatal Oldbury hit-and-run
Police have released new CCTV footage of a car involved in a hit-and-run that killed an Oldbury man.
Tony Maskell was crossing Birchfield Lane, Oldbury, near to the Whiteheath Tavern, just before midnight on Thursday July 30 when he was struck by a silver Nissan Micra.
He suffered fatal head injuries.
Three months on from the collision police have today released new footage in a bid to find the driver responsible.
The footage shows the Micra and two cars that officers believe may have been carrying witnesses.
Police have appealed for the drivers of a Peugeot 207/208 and a white SUV, which both travelled on the opposite carriageway moments before the collision, to come forward.
They would also like to speak to two people who were walking a small white dog along Throne Road when the Micra drove past after the collision.
The Micra is believed to have travelled along Birchfield Lane from Birchley Island before colliding with Mr Maskell.
It then turned left into Titford Lane and immediately right into a service road leading to the rear of the Fox Tavern Public House.
The vehicle then remained at the rear of the Fox Tavern pub for two and half minutes before leaving.
The driver then turned left back onto Titford Lane before continuing straight into Throne Road.
Mr Maskell's family are desperate to find answers to how they lost their loved one.
In a statement they said: "Tony was our eldest of three children and was a loving son, brother and father to three children.
"This has devastated our whole family and losing him this way has left a huge void in our lives which we as a family will never get over.
"We are appealing for the driver of the Silver Nissan Micra to come forward and do the right thing and contact the police. You know what happened that night and we as a family need closure.
"If the driver's conscience won't allow him to come forward then we appeal to anyone who knows the identity of the driver to contact the police - family members, friends or anyone who can help us to try and move on."
Sergeant Alan Wood from West Midlands Police said: "Evidence at the scene has identified the vehicle as a silver Nissan Micra K11 model registered between 2000 and 2003.
"We know that the vehicle would have suffered some damage to the front offside.
"The actions of the driver and the movements after would appear to show they have knowledge of the local area or may even live nearby.
"We have previously appealed to the driver to do the right thing and come forward but to date this has not happened. I would ask them to think about the effect this incident has had on Tony's family and make contact with me.
"Likewise if the driver has confided with family and friends about this incident I would appeal to them to come forward."
