WWE alumni invade the West Midlands
American superstars Syxx-Pac and Juventud Guerrera wowed wrestling fans in the West Midlands - and there's more to come on Friday night.
The star duo entertained a crowd of 500 spectators at the Saddlers Club, adjacent to Walsall Football Club's Banks's Stadium, writes Craig Birch.
Syxx-Pac topped the bill in a six-man tag match as he joined the winning team with Powell's alter ego 'Mad Dog Maxx' and Kris Navarro.
They beat Johnny Thunder, Tom Mason and Big Paulie with the now 43-year-old Pac - real name Sean Waltman - scoring the pinfall after his trademark 'Bronco Buster' and 'X-Factor' on Paulie.
The masked Guerrera, aged 40, warmed up for his next bout with a victory over Hari Mahal, who went down for the 1-2-3 after a 'Juvi Buster.'
And 'the Juice' will be sticking around to appear on this week's next show of local promoter Matt Powell's Pro Wrestling Live organisation.
The grapplers are preparing to appear at the Crown Suites, formerly Willenhall Baths, with two more WWE and WCW alumni added to the card.
The venue has a rich heritage for wrestling stretching back to the 1950s, with the legendary Kendo Nagasaki making his debut there. It was the same year the Baths hosted a Rolling Stones gig, 1964.
WWE Hall of Famer and Wrestlemania main-eventer Ted Dibiase, 61, cannot compete due to the neck injury that ended his career in 1993.
The retired 'Million Dollar Man' and now ordained minister will still get up close and personal, though, when he acts as the special enforcer for a grudge match.
Guerrera will be stood across the ring from the opponent who he beat to lift the WCW cruiserweight title in 1998, the Japanese high-flier Ultimo Dragon.
Tickets are still available and will be on the door at £15 VIP, £10 standing with a family of four pass for £35. For more information, call 07747 441 028 or 07827 916 531.
