The concept sees people dancing under disco lights with glow sticks - in an effort to recreate the conditions of a nightclub.

Around 90 people have joined Emma Pearce's group since she launched it at the end of July.

Miss Pearce, aged 30, said: "My demographic is mainly ladies between 25 and 55 - but not just that.

"It can be mums or women who don't go out to nightclubs as much as they used to.

"Clubbercise is something they can go out to for an hour, and have a full-body workout with the glowsticks and disco lights.

"The music is club anthems from the 90s to the present day."

Emma has lost nearly two stone since starting clubbercising in January

Miss Pearce hosts sessions in Halesowen and Brierley Hill which have proved popular.

While there are 90 people signed up, she regularly attracts around 40 to the sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays.

"This isn't just limited to the ladies 25 and 55," she said.

Emma says clubbercise is for everyone

"It's something that people can come to if they feel vulnerable going to the gym and want to have fun and lose some weight.

"It's getting bigger and bigger and is really good to bring it to these communities.

"The great thing about it is that it helps people as well, and that's why I wanted to do it as an instructor."

Supply chain worker Miss Pearce started attending clubbercise sessions in January and loved the concept so much that she became an instructor.

Since taking on the clubbercise challenge in January Miss Pearce has lost 1st 9lb.
