Two arrested after spate of burglaries in Tettenhall
Two people have been arrested following a spate of burglaries in a Wolverhampton estate.
Up to 11 houses and sheds were broken into in the Aldersley Road area of Tettenhall in the first two weeks of September.
The neighbourhood policing team is now appealing to residents to keep windows and sheds locked as the sunny weather continues.
Tettenhall Regis ward representative Councillor Jonathan Yardley said: "This area has the lowest crime levels in the West Midlands. In the previous month not a single incident was reported, but in the first fortnight of September numerous properties including cars were broken into.
"I understand that two people suspected of being involved were arrested."
Sgt Ron Price, of Tettenhall police team, said: "This sorts of crimes are seasonal in nature and tend to be carried out by opportunist thieves. I would urge residents to take care when doing the gardening. Keep sheds locked."
