'He would do anything for anyone': Family's emotional tribute to father killed in Dudley crash
The devastated family of Craig Griffiths, who died after crashing in Dudley earlier this week, have paid tribute to a 'loving son, brother and father'.
Mr Griffiths, aged 26, from Netherton, was killed after his car collided with a lamppost on Birmingham New Road on Tuesday, September 29.
His family today described him as a selfless and loving family man.
They said: "Craig was a wonderful and loving son and brother and a brilliant father to his five-year-old daughter and it's been a very difficult time for all of the family and a large number of Craig's friends.
"He was a quiet and shy young man with a cheeky, infectious smile and he would do anything for anyone always put others first."
Friends echoed this sentiment, describing Mr Griffiths as a 'top bloke' and 'everybody's friend'.
The car enthusiast had been planning to follow in his father's footsteps as a truck driver and was said to have had a bright future ahead of him.
Mr Griffiths died after his car collided with a tree and a lamppost near the King Arthur pub at the junction of Birmingham New Road and Priory Road at around 10.20pm on Tuesday.
He managed to leave his vehicle after the collision, but then suffered a cardiac arrest.
Paramedics treated him at the scene but he later died at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley.
A 26-year-old passenger who was in the vehicle with Mr Griffiths suffered minor injuries.
Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Craig's family have been left devastated by their loss and ask for people to respect their privacy at this difficult time.
"Our investigation is on-going and we appeal for anyone with any information to contact us on 101."
