IN PICTURES: Rush-hour smash causes traffic chaos
Motorists faced rush-hour chaos and delays in Birmingham after a crash closed the Aston Expressway in both directions.

The smash took place on the road road heading out of the city centre, between Dartmouth Circus and the M6 shortly before 6pm this evening.
The Aston Expressway A38(M) was closed until shortly after 7.20pm while recovery of the two cars involved in the smash took place and the scene was cleared.
At least three ambulances from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended, but fortunately only minor injuries were reported.
The closure resulted in delays on the M6, the A38, and the A5127.
