The Wolverhampton Sea Cadets want to offer more people the chance to discover the magic of going out to sea.

The group, which offers young people and adults the chance to take part in waterborne activities, Duke of Edinburgh endorsed outdoor pursuits and much more, has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

Staff numbers are increasing, while more and more young people are getting on board.

The group boasts a juniors section for people aged 10-12 and a full unit of sea cadets aged from 13-18, as well as more experienced adults. It has been running since 1943 and wants money to expand after collecting more than £150 through Cash For Your Community last year. Aside from welcoming more people, the group wants to purchase a safety boat as well as improving its base on Mayfield.
