As well as providing care, support and recreational opportunities to anyone suffering from a learning disability, the group are now looking to provide employment opportunities on site if they can secure enough funding to build a cafe.

The group is based Whitmore Reans and sets up numerous projects to get people involved with gardening and horticultural activities, providing a serene environment for members to socialise and make friends while staying active.

In the wider context, the group runs training programmes to help people develop their skills and confidence in order to live more independently.

Its future plans include extending the range of facilities on offer and setting up a cafe on site, which would provide direct employment opportunities within the group for its members.

In recent months, the group has also set up an arts and crafts stall which sells work carried out by members in its Skills for Life programme.
