The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest health providers in the West Midlands with more than 800 beds at New Cross Hospital.

But it requires charitable funding for support - this is where The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity comes in.

The group raises cash to support individual wards and departments, providing cash for everything from children's books to more advanced specialist pieces of equipment.

One area the charity looks at is dementia care. One project was to improve bed bays in the acute medical unit, another was to create a therapeutic garden in the specialist dementia care ward.

The charity now wants to fund the creation of a room where patients and their families can share special moments in their lives, helping them battle dementia.

The cost of the project is a £10,000, and despite support from Wednesfield Rotary Club and Sainsbury's in Wednesfield, more money is needed.

Leanne Bood, fundraising co-ordinator, said: "Any support we could receive from the dream fund would mean that we are another step to achieving our goal."
