Coseley Athletic Bowling Club

The Coseley Athletic Bowling Club is aiming to be in the green with the help of token collecting readers.

The club, which started in 1999, has grown out of an unused, overgrown section of Coseley Cricket Club's playing fields and now runs eight teams who compete in local leagues.

The club's story so far is a glowing success but in order to expand it needs cash.

Rather than aim solely for success on the green, the club wants to bring the sport to the wider community and make sure everyone has a fair chance to take part.

It regularly fields junior teams, ladies teams and senior citizen teams to represent Coseley on the bowling green.

In recent months, the club has acquired two adapted wheelchairs, which will allow it to encourage the participation of disabled bowlers.

Whether a player is young or old, suffering from disabilities, new to the sport or a veteran, everyone is given a chance.

Now the club is looking to raise funds to make sure the safety of its members is maintained at all times.

Without the help of the Coseley Cricket Club, the bowls club wouldn't have a place to play, however, money is needed to purchase safety nets so cricket balls don't find their way on to the green.
