Beacon Centre for the Blind
Its children and young people's project is the only club of its kind in the Black Country, providing out of school activities for youngster with sight loss.
But the Beacon Centre for the Blind wants to do more.
It is asking for money to help increase the number of children and young people with visual impairment it can help.
By doing so, bosses hope they can help reduce the young people's isolation and improve their mental and physical health.
Beacon Centre for the Blind, which is based in Sedgley, launched the young people's project in 1998.
If it received the cash, the group would also use it to support the development of its Junior ActivEyes Programme.
In particular, the group would use the money for tips and off-site activities to help isolated children and build friendships.
Beacon Centre for the Blind is a registered charity. It is the only group in the Black Country and Staffordshire which provides services to children, and adults, with sight loss.
Bosses expect the demand for services to increase in the future because of the ageing people and rise in people with sigh related problems caused by conditions such as diabetes.
The charity's main office is in Wolverhampton Road East in Wolverhampton. It also has charity shops across the region supporting its work.
