At last! More car parking for Rowley Regis Hospital

Dozens of extra parking spaces are planned for Rowley Regis Hospital in a bid to ease the strain on patients and nearby residents.

A new staff car park with up to 50 spots will be created on land at the back of the hospital, off Moor Lane.

It will free up existing spaces in the car park, currently used by workers, so they can be used by patients and visitors.

It's part of a £2 million revamp of the hospital which follows a public consultation held earlier this year.

The car park has around 110 spaces available but residents and patients had requested more parking spaces as cars, unable to park on site, clog up surrounding roads at busy times.

Project manager Paul Scott said making further car parking spaces available would improve access to the site.

Mr Scott said: "We have a great facility here and we want to see it as a vibrant, healthcare hub for people in the local community."
