Gang hunted after £20k cigarette raid on Wednesfield shop
Detectives are hunting a gang who escaped with £20,000 worth of cigarettes in a raid on a shop.
The thieves struck at the Supernews store in High Street, Wednesfield around 2.30am on Thursday.
They broke into the store through a skylight at the rear of the property and disabled the burglar alarm before rifling through the stock. The theft was not discovered until staff arrived for work later that morning.
Officers are now combing through CCTV looking for clues to the break in and any vehicle used by the raiders.
Deb Edmonds from West Midlands Police said: "There is an ongoing investigation into this offence and anybody with any information that could be helpful to the inquiry is asked to contact police by phone 101 or by contacting Crimestoppers."
