Man charged over knife attack

A man appeared in court accused of stabbing another man he found at the home of his ex-partner.

Wayne Roberts is alleged to have attacked the man at a house in Juniper Drive on the Yew Tree estate, near Wednesbury, on Friday.

The victim, aged 35, was left with stab wounds to his face and back.

He underwent surgery in hospital but police said his injuries are not life-threatening.

Roberts, 28, from Walsall, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 19.
