Caught on CCTV: Man sought after armed robbery at Bloxwich convenience store
This is the man police would like to speak to following an armed robbery at a Bloxwich convenience store.
Posing as genuine customer the man visited the Co-op Store on the Turnberry Estate and walked up to the cashier and asked to buy some cigarettes. As the cashier scanned the cigarettes he produced what is believed to be a hand gun, and demanded cash.
The cashier informed the man that no cash was kept on the premises and he escaped empty-handed.
The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall and aged between 35 and 40.
At the time of the armed robbery in Sneyd Hall Road at around 9pm on Tuesday, June 2, he was wearing a navy blue gillet, red tracksuit top, blue jeans, green beanie hat and white trainers.
Detective Constable Gerry Maley, from Bloxwich Investigation Team, said:" The brave member of staff kept calm throughout their ordeal and informed the thief that no cash was kept on premises.
"The robber fled the store empty-handed and fortunately no-one was hurt but obviously they were left shaken.
"We continue to investigate the robbery and are now appealing to anyone that recognises this man to come forward."
