A stray tyre forced the car towing the caravan to swerve, causing the crash, which also involved a lorry, this morning.

It happened on the carriageway northbound between Junction 13, Stafford and Junction 14, Stone. The caravan overturned and collided with a lorry in the second lane.
The incident at 10.35am led to the closure of one lane while the caravan was recovered.
The Central Motorway Police Group from Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire were all at the scene but there were no injuries.
The debris and spillage were cleared by 12.45pm and all lanes were reopened but heavy congestion followed for three hours afterwards.
