Man sought after Asda carjacking
A man is being sought after a carjacking at a Great Barr supermarket.
Witnesses are urged to come forward after a man was punched and forced from his BMW by a robber at an Asda branch.
The 41-year-old was sat in his white BMW M3 convertible when a man walked up to the driver's side window, opened the door and punched the driver in the face, leaving him disorientated.
The robber forced him to get out of the car before driving off in the '12' plate high performance car at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 14.
PC Luke Knight, from Birmingham Central investigation team, said: "We want to trace anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery.
"Asda is likely to have been fairly busy at this time and so plenty of people may have seen what happened.
"In particular there was a man who was wearing a Royal Mail uniform, who we believe witnessed the whole crime and spoke to the victim immediately after the offender had driven off.
"We urge him to come forward as he may have information that's vital to our inquiry."
The offender is described as a black man, of slim build, in his early to mid 20s, with a local, Birmingham accent.
He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and a green high visibility short sleeved jacket over the top.
Anyone with information should call Birmingham Central Investigation Team by dialling 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
