Ten in court following Black Country dawn raids

Nine men and a woman arrested in dawn raids across the Black Country yesterday are set to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court.

The 10 are accused of drug crimes, handling stolen goods and burglary and were arrested in simultaneous 6am raids across Tipton, Rowley Regis, Oldbury, West Bromwich and Bradley.

An eleventh man, aged 37 and from West Bromwich, was released without charge following questioning.

Appearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court today are:

  • Kelly Jesson (female), 27, unemployed of Grace Road, Tipton, Sandwell. Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine.

  • Justin Brook (male), 29, unemployed of Grace Road, Tipton, Sandwell. Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine.

  • Jonathan Rose (male), 32, unemployed of Wylde Crescent, Rowley Regis, Warley. Charged with handling stolen goods.

  • Reece Cherrington (male), 21, unemployed of Wallace Road, Bradley, Wolverhampton. Charged with six counts of supplying cannabis and one count of offering to supply cocaine.

  • Jaskirandeep Gill (male), 21, unemployed of Middle Meadow, Tipton. Charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

  • Shaun Whinnery (male), 48, unemployed of Beacon View Road, West Bromwich. Charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods and burglary other building.

  • Stephen Whinnery (male), 51, unemployed of Beacon View Road, West Bromwich. Charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods, supplying cannabis and supplying crack cocaine.

  • Ashley Howen (male), 28, unemployed of Hartlebury Road, Oldbury. Charged with two counts of handling stolen goods and failing to appear at court (in connection with an unrelated matter).

Appearing before Birmingham Magistrates Court on May 20:

  • Scott Timmins (male), 24, unemployed of no fixed address. Charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods.

  • Craig Wise (male), 27, unemployed of no fixed address. Charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods.

Codenamed Spring Safer Six, around 100 officers from across the West Midlands took part in an intelligence-led strike against suspected criminal networks selling drugs and committing crimes to fuel their drug addiction.
