The accident happened in Cobden Street, Palfrey, at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

The youngster was taken to hospital but his injuries were not serious.

Meanwhile, a four-vehicle accident caused rush-hour delays on the M6. The crash happened on the exit slip road at junction nine at Wednesbury.

And in a separate crash, drivers faced delays after an overturned car blocked a road.

A Staffordshire Police force control room spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the crash on the A449 Stourbridge Road, Wombourne, just after 5pm this afternoon.

The road toward Wolverhampton was blocked at Wodehouse Island for over an hour, causing delays even after the road was cleared.

No serious injuries were reported after the crash, which involved a Fiat 500 and a Honda Civic, but one driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.
