West Midlands rail passengers could see London prices slashed

Rail passengers in the West Midlands could see the cost of their journeys to London cut by almost 40%  from this month.

London Midland is reducing a range of ticket prices on its Birmingham to London services by up to 39.8% from May 17.

A London Midland only Super Off-Peak single will fall from £24.90 to £15.

The Super Off-Peak return, the lowest return fare available every day, from the West Midlands to London is being cut by 12 per cent to £22.

Paul Matthews, London Midland's head of business optimisation said "London Midland has built a strong reputation for offering good value fares on the very competitive London route. Introducing more low fares is just another way we are committed to improving our passengers' journeys."
